It brought a sense of camaraderie and allowed me to connect with those who’ve also served. Also, I was Army and my brother served in the USMC, so it’s a great way for us to bond.
It brought back that sense of pride from when I did wear the uniform. I am part of the Wenonah NJ American Legion Post 192 and enjoy being involved with veteran and first responder activities.
I became involved through the Heroes Run 5K, and look forward to it every year. I promote it within my local VSO and try to get others involved.
I hope more people realize how connected we all are in our communities through service. The Travis Manion Foundation is also a great way to get out and support those who served their nation and defended the American way of life, and educate future generations on the importance of service.
